Netflix's The Gentleman Returns with Lower Viewership
Season 2 of The Gentleman premiered on Netflix on September 3, 2026, and despite already securing a third season, the show experienced a significant audience decline. The series' initial four-day viewership stood at 6.7 million views, placing it at No. 3 on Netflix's English TV list for August 31 to September 6. This marked nearly a 50% drop in viewers compared to Season 1's premiere weekend.
Streaming Rankings and Competition
The English TV list was dominated by Death of a Pastor’s Wife with 13.9 million views, followed by Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black: Season 3 at No. 2 with 8 million views. Outer Banks: Season 5 maintained its position at No. 4 with 3.3 million views, while Netflix's Instadocs: The Decoy Plane, a new documentary, took the No. 6 spot with 2.9 million views.
The Gentleman's Previous Success
Interestingly, Season 1 of The Gentleman performed much better in its initial weeks, ranking as high as No. 5 on the Top 10 rankings with 3.2 million views. While Season 2's debut was not as impactful, sustained interest could keep the show relevant for several weeks on Netflix's streaming charts.
