In the realm of TV and music streaming, price hikes are almost as predictable as the return of a favorite show or a new best picture Oscar winner. Planning your entertainment budget is easier when you don't factor in potential price changes—and they've already started.
This year has brought increases to services you use to stream shows, movies, music, and live TV, such as:
- Spotify
- Netflix
- Sling
- Crunchyroll
We’re calling this phenomenon streamflation. While you might not want to cancel your subscriptions entirely, you can cancel, rotate services, or scout for discounts if you hit your spending limit.
2026 Streaming Price Hikes
Apple TV (August 2026)
One year after its 2025 price increase, Apple TV bumped up its streaming plans:
- Monthly: $15 (up from $14)
- Annual: $119 (up from $115)
- Peacock Bundle: $23 (up from $22)
Peacock (August 2026)
Ahead of fall sports and TV season, Peacock launched another round of price increases:
- Ad-based Premium: $13 (up $2)
- Premium Plus: $20 (up from $17)
- Select: $9 (up from $8)
- Annual Subscriptions: All tiers saw increases.
YouTube Premium (April 2026)
YouTube Premium got its first increase since 2023, offering:
- Ad-free videos, downloads, offline play, and a YouTube Music subscription.
New prices:
- Monthly: $17.99 (up from $16.99)
- Annual: $179.99 (up from $159.99)
