Drew Campbell and Vanessa Dengler made it to the Top 50 of the audition process for Netflix's Wonka's The Golden Ticket—and they were actually spotted on the show.
Showrunner Alison Holloway revealed that Drew and Vanessa beat out thousands for a chance at the Golden Ticket, but their appearance wasn't part of the act. Holloway explained, "We told our finalists they wouldn't know if they were on the show until they opened their Wonka Bar and pulled out a Golden Ticket. We wanted that moment to be completely pure and real."
Drew's Wonka cameo came during his time on Big Brother, after his breakup with Vanessa and while he developed a close relationship with fellow contestant Melody Morris.
Key Takeaways:
- Drew and Vanessa really made it to the Top 50 of the Wonka audition process.
- They didn't receive a Golden Ticket on the show.
- Their Wonka appearance happened before his Big Brother stint.
