How to Watch 49ers-Rams on Netflix: Start Time, Live Stream Info

By Nick Brinkerhoff, USA TODAY

Former NFL linebacker Clay Matthews talks about calling the Rams vs. 49ers game in Australia for Netflix, his broadcasting role and what fans can expect from the matchup.

The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers are going "Down Under." These California dreamers are slated to kick off their seasons in Melbourne, marking the NFL’s first game in Australia. It’s a long way from home, but home is where the Super Bowl is this season. California—specifically, Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium—will host Super Bowl 61, a game both the Rams and 49ers are hopeful to be playing in when the calendar flips to February.

That’s why an early divisional clash takes on added importance. Barring a tie, someone will have an early advantage in a key tiebreaker down the road.

The Rams aren’t just debuting some new jerseys. They are also introducing some new stars like Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie to add to an already star-studded lineup. On the flip side, the 49ers are back to business as usual with Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, and company hoping to get over the hump in this era marked by injury and overall misfortune in the biggest moments.

Week 1 won’t be the biggest moment of the season but it could be a defining one. After all, sometimes it really is how you start.
