Hundreds join TT rider's widow for memorial lap
Hundreds of bikers, marshals, and members of the public joined TT rider Daniel Ingham's widow, Helayna, for a memorial lap around the Isle of Man course.
Helayna Ingham, speaking to BBC, expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support, saying, "People travelling from all over to be there for Dan means more to me than I could ever put into words."
She and her two children have been supported by the "incredible racing community", helping them cope with the "heartbreaking" loss of Daniel, who died after a crash during qualifying for the TT race on May 27th.
The 37.5-mile lap, completed by Helayna on the bike of Jim Hunter from the Manx Motor Cycle Club, honoured Daniel's life and his passion for the Isle of Man, Manx Grand Prix, and TT races.
"For us all, these TT riders are heroes," said Jim Hunter, "but really this is the strength of feeling among the motorcycle community." He hoped the turnout would demonstrate to Helayna and her children "how highly their father was regarded, and how wonderful of a person he was."
Daniel Ingham, an experienced Mountain Course competitor, had won the Senior race at the Manx Grand Prix in 2024.
