Netflix Developing 'Diablo' Animated Series
Netflix is adapting the popular video game Diablo into an animated series. This was announced by Blizzard Entertainment chief Johanna Faries at BlizzCon in Anaheim on Saturday.
According to Variety, the series will be set in the Diablo universe, with more details to be revealed in the future. The description of the project states:
"After decades of bringing entire universes to life through our games, we’re partnering with some creative powerhouses to tell even more stories beyond gaming across new screens. A new animated series set in the world of Diablo is in development with Netflix. More details will be shared in the future, but this is only the beginning, with even more taking shape across our universes."
Diablo initially released in 1996, with subsequent editions released in 2000, 2012, and 2023. Blizzard also confirmed that Diablo V will be launching in the spring of 2029.
The official Diablo Twitter account shared the news with the caption: "We are thrilled to share that we are in development on a new animated series for Diablo with Netflix."
