Netflix’s Vice President of Global Live Sports and Entertainment, Gabe Spitzer, recently spoke highly of the streaming giant’s partnership with WWE. In a Sports Media Podcast interview, he expressed his excitement about the results of this collaboration.
"We’re now in… almost two years, but over a year and a half since our first live sports entertainment deal with WWE," said Spitzer. He praised the partnership with figures like Paul Levesque (Triple H), Lee Fitting, and Nick Khan.
According to Spitzer, WWE’s flagship show, RAW, has achieved all the metrics Netflix had hoped for in the United States. Furthermore, he was pleasantly surprised by the international performance of WWE programming.
"It’s hit… every metric that we’ve hoped for on the U.S. side," he noted. "We’ve been surprised in a good way by the growth outside of the U.S."
The partnership brings RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and premium live events like WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam to various countries. This includes recent events in Italy and Australia, with plans for more in Europe and Mexico.
