Netflix Searches For ‘Love At First Sight’ With Latest Dating Show

Netflix is doubling down on dating shows. The streamer has ordered Love At First Sight, from Age of Attraction producer Velvet Hammer Media, its latest entry into the popular genre.

Many of Netflix’s biggest unscripted hits are dating shows including Love Is Blind, which is launching Season 11 later this fall in Boston, Temptation Island, renewed for a third season on Netflix after moving from USA Network, and Age of Attraction, quickly renewed for a second season after becoming one of the streamer’s biggest reality launches this year.

Love At First Sight asks, “Can love at first sight lead to everlasting love? A group of singles come face-to-face with that question.”

The show is currently casting and seeking contestants who believe they could instantly recognize their soulmate. Velvet Hammer Media’s Jen O'Connell and Rebecca Quinn will executive produce Love At First Sight, unrelated to Netflix's Haley Lu Richardson-led romantic comedy feature produced by Alex Cooper’s husband Matt Kaplan.

It marks the latest unscripted order for Netflix; last week, Deadline revealed the streamer greenlit social experiment series Playing with Matches from Mettlemouse and other recent unscripted acquisitions include The Leftovers from Jersey Shore producer, Arizona Hot from Banijay-owned Bright Spot Content, and Born In.
