Netflix is gearing up for a Rob Lowe-filled holiday season with the release of the actor’s documentary, “Rob Lowe: The Outsider,” and new video episodes of his podcast, “Literally! With Rob Lowe.”
Set to release on November 24, “Rob Lowe: The Outsider” traces Lowe’s career from his breakout roles in “The Outsiders” and “St. Elmo’s Fire” to his Emmy-nominated performance on “The West Wing” and how he maintained his Hollywood career. The documentary is directed by Chris Smith (“Tiger King”) and executive produced by Marc Gurvitz, Jon Liebman, and Zoe Rogovin.
Lowe’s podcast, “Literally! With Rob Lowe,” will be available to stream December 3 in a new partnership with SiriusXM, Netflix, and Lowe himself. Over 30 library episodes will be available on the streaming platform, with new video episodes released every Thursday.
The news comes ahead of Netflix’s holiday comedy film “In A Holidaze,” premiering December 2. The film also stars Lowe, along with “Dance Moms” alumna Maddie Ziegler. Based on the novel by Christina Lauren, Ziegler plays a young woman stuck in a holiday time-loop.
Graham Phillips and Elias Kacavas also star in the film, which is directed and written by Tiffany Paulsen. Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton of Alloy Entertainment produce.
