Netflix Signs Global Deal for British True Crime Podcast 'Outlore With Eleanor Neale'
By Jesse Whittock
Netflix has expanded its podcast offerings with an exclusive global deal for Outlore with Eleanor Neale, a popular true crime podcast from the UK.
Eleanor Neale, the host and creator of Outlore, which launched in 2018, has attracted a vast audience with her unique approach to true crime stories. The podcast, with over 2.8 million subscribers and 500 million views on YouTube, delves into the psychology of crimes and tells the victims' stories before the headlines.
"I created Outlore as a space to explore true crime cases with the care they deserve, while still speaking with my audience in a natural, conversational, and distinctly British way," Neale shared. "Having Netflix recognize what makes the show special is incredibly exciting."
Podcast's Rise
Neale initially gained popularity by posting lifestyle videos in 2017, but her shift to true crime content the following year proved a massive success, quickly building a dedicated fan base.
For Netflix, this is another step into the podcasting world. Earlier this year, they partnered with Goalhanger for The Rest is Football, daily World Cup-themed episodes, and extended the collaboration to cover the ongoing English Premier League season and the next.
