Netflix has revealed The Conjuring: Unspoken, the first standalone video game based on The Conjuring franchise, just in time for Halloween.

Developed by Supermassive Games, the British studio behind Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and The Quarry, the interactive narrative horror game launches exclusively on Netflix on 13 October.

The title had previously surfaced in Netflix's October line-up, but the latest announcement provides a clearer look at gameplay, characters, and the eerie inn at the heart of the story.

The Conjuring: Unspoken

Release Date: 13 October 2026

Platform: Streamed directly through Netflix on supported TV apps or web browsers, with an iOS or Android phone used as the controller.

Developer: Supermassive Games

The Conjuring: Unspoken follows demonologist Francesca Noakes as she investigates a series of disturbing events at the centuries-old Red Lion Inn in England. The Cooper family arrives at the inn while grieving their mother's death, but strange occurrences soon unfold, including missing dolls, nocturnal voices, and a music box playing by itself. A séance goes awry, intensifying the haunting. As the investigation progresses, Francesca uncovers the presence of Vinea, a demon that feeds on grief, and Florrie, a ghost from English folklore.

Players search the inn for clues, investigate paranormal activity, and make dialogue choices that shape the story. Netflix describes it as an "interactive paranormal investigation."

This marks the first standalone game in the The Conjuring universe, which began with the 2013 James Wan supernatural horror film and has since expanded into four mainline films and spin-offs like Annabelle and The Nun. While players can enjoy the game without prior knowledge of the films, longtime viewers will recognize some characters. Netflix teased the appearance of "a few familiar faces" with backstory elements providing context.

Gameplay

The Conjuring: Unspoken utilizes a combination of a big screen and smartphone. The game world appears on the big screen while the player's phone acts as Francesca's paranormal investigation kit. As players explore the Red Lion Inn, they access various tools through their phone:

  • Electromagnetic field reader: Scans for paranormal activity.
  • Infrared camera: Provides a thermal view and helps locate cold spots.
  • Spirit box: Communicates with apparitions.

Players also make dialogue choices throughout the investigation, influencing the story's direction.
