Netflix to Report Box Office for Six Upcoming Titles
Netflix has promised a 45-day theatrical window after acquiring Warner Bros., and now the streamer will begin publicly reporting box office grosses for its upcoming slate of six movies: La Bola Negra, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, Mosquito Bowl, Danny Boyle’s Ink, Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
This change comes as Netflix prepares for two wide releases in 2027: Narnia and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Previously, Netflix often kept its ticket sales private, shielding them from Rentak reports alongside other studios. While the streamer didn't officially reveal the box office ranking of their August 2025 hit, K-Pop Demon Hunters Singalong, industry estimates suggest it brought in around $19 million over two days (excluding AMC).
Netflix's relationship with top exhibitors like AMC has often been contentious due to its reluctance to adhere to exclusive theatrical windows. However, smaller theaters have benefited from Netflix's four-walling strategy early on.
