Robert De Niro and Michael Keaton's latest crime-thriller feature is now soaring at No.1 on streaming charts. The Whisper Man premiered on August 28 on Netflix and topped the platform’s English film chart in its first week.

According to the streamer's data, The Whisper Man drew 33.4 million views from August 31 to September 6. The R-rated film also recorded 63.5 million hours viewed during the same period.

Adam Scott leads the cast as a grieving widower searching for his abducted son, while Robert De Niro plays his estranged detective father. Michael Keaton plays the titular serial killer alongside Michelle Monaghan and Hamish Linklater. The film is based on Alex North’s bestselling novel of the same name.

Surprisingly, the film opened to mixed-to-negative reviews following its premiere. As of writing, the 104-minute movie holds a 46% critics’ score and 40% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite those ratings, it has easily surpassed the documentary Turning Point: Generation 9/11, which ranked second with 5.2 million views. GTA 6: Extended Look is placed at No.4 with 4.4 million views. Some older titles also made their way into the rankings, including The Hard Corps, The Angry Birds Movie 2, Shrek, and many more.
