Taraji P. Henson’s latest Tyler Perry sequel is already topping Netflix’s charts just days after its release. Why Did I Get Married Again? reunites franchise favorites while also introducing new faces as a relationship drama unfolds.

Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? sits at the top of Netflix’s Top 10 movies chart in the United States, according to FlixPatrol data for September 15, 2026. The film has held the No. 1 spot for six consecutive days since its September 9 release. The comedy-drama stars Taraji P. Henson, Jill Scott, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, and Richard T. Jones.

In the film, a young couple, Jasmine and Wesley, face disapproval from her stern father over their upcoming wedding, prompting their friends and family to question their own marriages. Perry wrote and directed the movie, which runs one hour and 51 minutes.

The sequel’s success has also reignited interest in the franchise’s earlier installment, Why Did I Get Married Too?, which debuted at No. 10 on the Netflix Top 10 movies chart on the same day. Why Did I Get Married? originally premiered in 2007, and Why Did I Get Married Too? followed in 2010.

This film marks the fifth collaboration between Perry and Henson. Their previous projects together include The Family That Preys, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, Acrimony, and Straw. Henson plays the character Roselyn in the latest installment.
