Where Mr. T Thinks His New Netflix Documentary ‘Went Off Course’

Longtime cancer survivor Mr. T shares his thoughts on Netflix’s documentary, Untold Mr. T: I Pity the Fool, in an interview with USA TODAY.

Mr. T, at 74, initially hesitated to participate due to the precious nature of his story:

"I was reluctant because I feel that my story is very precious.”

He elaborates on his famous catchphrase and the impact of his cancer diagnosis. The documentary, streaming on Netflix, traces Mr. T’s journey from his childhood in Chicago’s housing projects to his iconic roles in Rocky III and The A-Team.

However, Mr. T expresses dissatisfaction with the documentary’s direction:

"Some parts [are] good, some parts not. We went off course. We didn’t stick with it, in my point of view."

He wishes the documentary had focused more on his time in the Army and his involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as well as his close relationship with his pastor, Rev. Henry Hardy.
