Netflix announced a pact with YouTube comedy creator Kevin Langue, known for claiming to be "the world’s best guesser." Starting September 5, Netflix will offer a collection of older episodes from Langue’s two YouTube channels — The Kevin Langue Show and Kevin Langue 2 — with new episodes dropping day-and-date alongside YouTube.
Langue has more than 13.5 million followers across online platforms. The Kevin Langue Show features guessing games and social experiments shot with a circle of comedian friends interrogating contestants, while Kevin Langue 2 offers a more "intimate" look at Langue through candid, unscripted content.
In a statement, Langue expressed his excitement:
"The fans have been the driving force behind this opportunity and to see what we’ve built now also on Netflix is incredibly special. I’m just so excited to continue bringing the energy of our shows to even more people around the world!"
Over the past year, Netflix has signed deals with prominent YouTubers including Mark Rober and Alan Chikin Chow for original shows. YouTube has expressed dissatisfaction with Netflix’s acquisitions, reportedly offering to fund creators’ projects with exclusive windows.
Langue is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment and WME. The Kevin Langue Show is executive produced by Langue, Zane Helberg, and Katherine Tompkins.
This summer, Langue launched an 18-city live tour, selling over 30,000 tickets.
