After the success of Squid Game and Stranger Things, Bridgerton and Wednesday are taking the reins as Netflix's top originals. With four Julia Quinn novels left to adapt, the 'Bridgerton Universe' is set to expand well into the 2030s, and potential spinoffs, especially one following Violet Bridgerton, have been heavily teased.

What is Bridgerton Season 5 About?
Season 4 primarily focused on Benedict and Sophie's romance, while also delving into Francesca's story from When He Was Wicked. After John Stirling's tragic death, Francesca finds solace in Michaela, who was originally Michael in the books. Their bond develops into a romantic relationship that will be at the heart of Season 5.
(Netflix has not released an official synopsis, but Shondaland.com provides this description: "Bridgerton’s fifth season... will star a queer female couple. The audience will follow Francesca and Michaela as they navigate their growing attraction... in the Regency world.")
Time Jump
Season 5 takes place two years after Season 4, potentially allowing for Eloise's story to be covered, but instead, the writers have chosen to focus on Francesca and Michaela's relationship.
