Extraction 3 is finally happening! Over three years after the release of the original film, What's on Netflix has confirmed that filming on its highly anticipated sequel is complete.
The news was shared by lead actor Chris Hemsworth, who posted a farewell message to Thailand on Instagram, where the film was shot. Previously, it had been reported that Extraction 3 was filming in Thailand, with production facing delays due to Hemsworth's busy schedule.
"Finishing up my time in Thailand," Hemsworth wrote. "Crazy few weeks of filming Extraction 3, but managed to fill the weekends with some fun non-work adventures too!" With Hemsworth's departure, it's safe to assume that filming is complete and the movie is on track for its 2027 release.
Extraction 3 had a production schedule listed by Netflix from late July to late October 2026, so Hemsworth's departure aligns perfectly with the streamer's plans.
The franchise is set for a big year in 2027. In addition to Extraction 3, two more projects are planned:
- Mercenary: An Extraction Series, a series starring Omar Sy as mercenary Kalidou Diallo, set in Libya.
- Tygo, a Korean spinoff movie starring Don Lee.
