Daisy Jelley and Connor Simos Lead Netflix's 'Icebreaker' Hockey Romance
Netflix has tapped Daisy Jelley (Poser, How to Have Sex) and Connor Simos (Subversion) to star in Icebreaker, a new hockey romance series based on Hannah Grace's best-selling novel of the same name.
The series revolves around Anastasia "Stassie" Allen (Jelley), a competitive figure skater with her sights set on Olympic gold, and Nate Hawkins (Simos), a hockey player equally determined to turn professional. Their icy rivalry turns into an undeniable attraction. "Is ambition or attraction the sharper blade?" reads the series synopsis.
Amanda Lasher (Gossip Girl, The Bold Type) will serve as showrunner, executive producing alongside Jade Bartlett (creator), Alex Cooper (Unwell Productions), Matt Kaplan, and Meena Lefevre. Grace is also an executive producer on the project.
This casting news follows the success of other hockey romance series at competing streamers, including Heated Rivalry on Crave and HBO Max.
