First Look: Schumacher '94 Documentary Trailer Released Ahead of Netflix Launch
Netflix has released the first trailer for its new documentary, Schumacher '94, which delves into the extraordinary 1994 Formula 1 season of Michael Schumacher.
The feature-length documentary focuses solely on 1994, the year Schumacher secured his inaugural world title. The then-25-year-old dominated the season, winning eight out of the 1994 championship's grands prix. He ultimately clinched the title by a mere point over Damon Hill, following a controversial crash at the season-ending Australian Grand Prix.
However, 1994 was not without its dark moments. The season marked both the tragic deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger at the San Marino Grand Prix, as well as allegations of illegal traction control software used by Schumacher's Benetton team.
Schumacher '94 promises to offer a "granular, in-depth look at the year that changed everything" in Formula 1, as described by Netflix. The trailer, released during the Italian Grand Prix weekend, where Schumacher's former team, Ferrari, paid tribute to him, can be viewed below.
The documentary, titled Schumacher '94 – The Birth of a Legend, will be released worldwide on Netflix.
