Netflix has refuted reports of a creative clash between Jennifer Lopez and filmmaker Robert Zemeckis over their upcoming film The Last Mrs. Parrish. The streamer, Lopez, and Zemeckis issued a joint statement denying the allegations, which compared the situation to the It Ends With Us feud.

According to Page Six, unnamed sources claimed Lopez had taken control of the film's editing room, causing tensions with Zemeckis. However, the statement reads: "As we have said to Page Six, this reporting is categorically false. Any suggestion that the filmmakers are not working in unison is without merit."

The outlet reported that Lopez and Zemeckis collaborated on the film's edit last week, and they are expected to meet next week to discuss the project.

What is the new movie about?

The Last Mrs. Parrish adapts Liv Constantine's 2017 bestseller. With a reported budget of $100 million, the psychological thriller follows Amber Patterson (Isabel May), a con artist who targets wealthy couple Daphne (Lopez) and Jackson Parrish (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).

Amber befriends Daphne and seduces Jackson, intending to replace Daphne as the next Mrs. Parrish. However, she discovers Daphne's life is more complex than anticipated.

Lopez, Zemeckis, and several other talented individuals are involved in the project, with The Last Mrs. Parrish anticipated to arrive in 2027 (though a formal release date has not yet been announced).
