Kate Winslet to Star in Vengeance Drama ‘The Unheard’ at Netflix From ‘Adolescence’ Writer Jack Thorne

Kate Winslet to Star in Netflix Series 'The Unheard' From Jack Thorne

Netflix has announced that Kate Winslet will star in a new limited series called "The Unheard." It's described as a "Thelma & Louise"-style vengeance drama.

Jack Thorne, known for his work on "Adolescence," has written the five-episode show, which is set to begin filming next year. Winslet will be joined by Maxine Peake (of "Say Nothing") as sisters who go on the run after an act of vengeance goes wrong. The logline asks: “What pushed them to this reckless act, and was it ever their intention to get away with it?”

During a panel at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Netflix UK Content Head Anne Mensah revealed the project, along with several other commissions including a "Top Boy" spin-off and a new Roald Dahl series. She emphasized the company's commitment to producing exceptional content in the competitive U.K. market.

"The Unheard" is produced by Warp Films, Matriarch Productions, and Plan B, with Winslet and Thorne serving as executive producers.
