Keira Knightley Returns to Netflix in 'Black Doves' Season 2 — Watch the First Trailer
Black Doves Season 2 Gets a Trailer
Helen Webb—or, shall we say, Daisy Bradshaw?—isn't done keeping secrets. As the first season of the Keira Knightley-led spy thriller Black Doves rings in the holidays with carols and conspiracies, Netflix is already preparing for the series's future beyond the Advent season.
Will there be a Season 2 of Black Doves?
Yes, indeed. Black Doves was preemptively renewed for a second season before its first had even dropped on the platform. During the Edinburgh TV Festival in August 2024, Netflix shared that the show would return for season 2.
What will Season 2 of Black Doves be about?
Without delving into spoiler territory, we can surmise that—thanks to the political ascendance of Helen's husband, Wallace Webb (Andrew Buchan)—Helen (Knightley) herself will have some substantial government secrets to carry in season 2. Her loyalties will likely be tested once again by the enigmatic Mrs. Webb.
What about the Cast?
Expect Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw to return as the series's grounding force and dynamic duo. Along with them, returning cast members include Sarah Lancashire, Kathryn Hunter, Ella Lily Hyland, Gabrielle Creevy, Agnes O'Casey, and Molly Chesworth.
Season 2 will also feature new additions:
- Ambika Mod (One Day) as Laila, an acerbic Black Doves agent.
- Babou Ceesay (Alien: Earth) as Mr. Conteh, a Black Doves executive with suspicious motivations.
- Sam Riley (Firebrand) as Patrick, an emissary from a mysterious organization.
- Neve Campbell (Scream) as Cecile Mason.
- Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049) as Katia Chernov.
- Goran Kostic (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Alexi Chernov.
- Samuel Barnett (Lee) as Jerry.
When will Season 2 come out?
The new episodes premiere on November 5 on Netflix, with six episodes in total.
Has production started yet?
Yes. In November 2025, Netflix announced that production had begun on the second season.
