MGM+ Horror Hit ‘From’ is Headed to Netflix US
One of the biggest genre hits of the last few years is heading to Netflix in the United States. The MGM+ sci-fi horror series From will be streaming on Netflix US beginning Monday, October 19th, 2026, as part of a limited-time licensing window.
We expect the first four seasons to land on the 19th, giving new viewers ample time to catch up before the show’s fifth and final season premieres on MGM+ in 2027.
Background
This isn’t From’s first time on Netflix. In 2021, Netflix was initially lined up to distribute the series outside the US as a Netflix Original. However, that deal never materialized, and the show instead arrived on Netflix in April 2024, in at least nine countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, and Sweden, as well as across the Middle East and North Africa. Only season 1 was ever made available in those regions, and the show has since departed.
We currently only see the show licensed to Netflix US, but we’ll update you if that changes.
About From
From follows the residents of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps everyone who enters. Escape appears impossible, and when night falls, terrifying creatures emerge from the surrounding forest.
Harold Perrineau leads the cast as Boyd Stevens, the town’s de facto sheriff, alongside Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, Scott McCord, Hannah Cheramy, Simon Webster, Ricky He, and Elizabeth Saunders.
The show premiered on Epix (now MGM+) in 2022 and has since become the most-watched series in the network’s history.
Season 5 Details
Don’t expect From season 5 on Netflix anytime soon. Production on season 5 began in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on July 6th, 2026, and is scheduled to wrap on November 27th, 2026. MGM+ confirmed in April 2026 that season 5 will be the show’s last.
Amazon MGM’s growing relationship with Netflix
When Amazon bought MGM for $8.45 billion back in 2021, there were expectations that MGM’s library would gradually dry up on Netflix in favor of Prime Video. For a while, this happened, with shows like Stargate SG-1 and Fargo departing.
However, Amazon MGM has been licensing to Netflix regularly again, notably bringing the James Bond collection and other titles like Rocky, Creed, Legally Blonde, Hunters, and The Man in the High Castle to Netflix. Fargo also returned to select international regions under this pact, and Sneaky Pete had its own one-year run on Prime Video.
