Netflix and Sega Partner for New ‘Sonic’ Series, Crazy Taxi Movie

Netflix and Sega are joining forces for a variety of projects, including:

Crazy Taxi Movie: A film adaptation of the beloved racing franchise, written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the duo behind the The Naked Gun reboot.

Sonic and Stranger Than Heaven: Adaptations of these video games, with Toru Nakahara producing both.

New Sonic Preschool Series: A new animated series from Carlos Stevens and Nakahara, tailored for upper pre-school audiences.
This partnership spans genres, styles, and formats, including live-action comedy, kids’ animation, and live-action crime.
"Great games already have what every adaptation is chasing — characters people love, worlds they know by heart, and fandoms that show up," said Brandon Riegg of Netflix. "With Crazy Taxi, Sonic, and Stranger Than Heaven, we get to work across three completely different eras of Sega’s catalog, celebrating everything fans love, while introducing them to new audiences."
