Netflix is losing nine major licensed shows this October, including high-profile dramas like Poldark and Dawson’s Creek. Here’s a look at the nine series departing.
From the 5 seasons of British historical drama Poldark to all 11 seasons of Shameless, Netflix is losing over 560 individual episodes this month. However, they’ve also picked up rights to popular shows like NCIS and Mayor of Kingstown.
Halo (Leaving: October 1) – Based on the beloved video game franchise, Halo premiered in 2022 with Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief. Despite initial scrutiny from fans, the series improved in its second season. It currently holds an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Dawson’s Creek (Leaving: October 3) – This 6-season drama was a popular teen series of the late ’90s and early 2000s, known for its groundbreaking LGBTQ+ representation. Netflix acquired the show in November 2020 but it has been on-and-off the platform since then.
