Netflix Announces The Inbetweeners 3 with Original Cast and Crew
Netflix has officially confirmed the long-awaited return of The Inbetweeners with its third movie, The Inbetweeners 3, featuring the original stars: Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison.
The beloved comedy franchise, which began on Channel 4 in 2008, will see the four friends—Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Jay Cartwright, and Neil Sutherland—reunite after more than a decade. Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, the original co-creators, will return to write and direct the new feature, ensuring a strong connection to the earlier stories.
Production has already begun in the United Kingdom, with Claire Jones producing alongside Banijay‘s Patrick Holland and Fudge Park Productions‘ Mark Lesbirel. The film will follow the original three-season sitcom and its two successful movie installments, released in 2011 and 2014.
"It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans," Beesley and Morris shared in a statement.
The Inbetweeners gained immense popularity for its humorous depiction of adolescence, with the first movie opening at No. 1 and setting a record for the biggest opening weekend for a UK comedy at the time. The Inbetweeners 2 followed in 2014, continuing the box-office success.
The announcement comes after years of discussions and speculation, with a deal between Banijay UK and Beesley and Morris through Fudge Park Productions signaling progress toward another installment. Netflix has now officially brought the project to life, solidifying The Inbetweeners 3 as the latest addition to this iconic franchise.
