Netflix South Africa is celebrating a decade of success with an exciting new content slate for 2026. To commemorate this milestone, the streaming giant has unveiled a robust lineup of local films and series at a press showcase in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
Over the past ten years, Netflix has played a pivotal role in promoting South African storytelling on a global scale. They have showcased over 300 local titles, including international hits like The Polygamist and Blood & Water, filmed across 20 cities, and supported thousands of jobs through partnerships with numerous production companies.
Ben Amadasun, VP of Content for Netflix Middle East and Africa, expressed his pride: "Ten years ago, we set out to share South African stories worldwide, and today, we strengthen our bond with the local creative industry... Our upcoming slate continues this ambition."
To celebrate, a dedicated row called A Decade In Africa: Worth Every Watch will run from September to December 2026 across Sub-Saharan Africa. This hub will feature fan-favorite series, films, and iconic global titles starring African talent.
