Fans of the hit television series Friends were left gutted when it disappeared from Netflix back in December 2025. As the show approaches its 32nd anniversary since its debut, viewers are desperate to relive the nostalgia and binge all 10 seasons.
Having become a comfort show for many, Friends remains as popular today as it was over three decades ago, sparking a recent wave of noughties nostalgia. But where can you watch the beloved sitcom now that it’s no longer on Netflix?

When Did Friends First Air?
Friends premiered on September 22, 1994. The pilot episode attracted approximately 22 million viewers, quickly becoming a hit and running for 10 seasons until May 6, 2004.
The show’s creators concluded that it naturally reached its end after 10 seasons as the characters’ arcs had come to a close.
Why Did Friends Leave Netflix?
Netflix removed Friends from its catalog due to expiring licensing agreements. The platform rents streaming rights from studios and networks for a limited time, and when these contracts end, they must decide whether to renew or remove the content.
Reportedly, Friends is one of Netflix’s most rewatched series, but it’s no longer available on the platform.
Will Friends Ever Return to Netflix?
There are currently no plans to revive Friends on Netflix in the UK, US, or Canada. However, fans worldwide have been streaming it via Now TV.
