Netflix Updates Its Moments Feature for Greater Control over Scene Clipping
Netflix launched a scene-clipping feature for mobile last year called “Moments,” which lets users quickly save their favorite scenes from shows and movies within the Netflix app. The streaming giant rolled out an update on Wednesday, allowing users to specify both a starting point and an endpoint when saving a scene.
Previously, users could only set a starting point. Now, people can adjust the scene’s ending, creating clips that are as long or short as they prefer.
To use the feature, begin watching a show or movie, then tap anywhere on the screen and click the “Clip” button. After saving, the clip will live in the “My Netflix” tab for later viewing. Users can also share on social media, allowing followers to click on the post and be taken directly to the scene within the app.
This update coincides with the release of Part 2 of the second season of “Wednesday.” Launching the Moments update alongside the hit series, which will feature Lady Gaga as a guest star, is expected to generate excitement for the show and encourage fans to share scenes on social media. According to the company, members have used Moments across thousands of titles.
