Netflix is releasing a drama film about Ted Kaczynski, the domestic terrorist known as the 'Unabomber', on September 25th. Jacob Tremblay stars as Kaczynski in this adaptation of the famous case.
The Storyline
The film chronicles Kaczynski's descent from math prodigy to a terrorist responsible for multiple bombings over nearly 20 years, according to Netflix. With Russell Crowe and Shailene Woodley also in the cast, Tremblay has spoken about his connection to the role, sharing insights gained from his experience in the Oscar-winning film Room at age nine.
What is Unabomber About?
While many know of Kaczynski's militant anti-technology beliefs and crimes, fewer understand the story of the man behind the headlines. Netflix's adaptation explores two periods: Kaczynski's life at Harvard in the 1950s and the FBI's hunt for him during numerous bombings between 1978 and 1995.
