The NFL’s opening week is starting off with a bang, as Netflix is streaming an NFC showdown between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers. In an effort to expand its international reach, the NFL sent the Rams and 49ers to Melbourne for the first regular season game in Australia. So far, the crowd at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground has been electric.

However, NFL fans are experiencing difficulties streaming the game this Thursday night, expressing their frustration on social media:

  • "Yes Netflix, let’s make it as annoying as possible to find the NFL game on your platform that’s really smart man,"Fan 1
  • "NFL you should be ashamed of yourself. This production on Netflix is horrible and why are there ads."Fan 2
  • "Not paying for Netflix just to watch Rams-49ers. First Australia game and they hid it behind another app. This is how they keep wrecking the NFL."Fan 3
  • "The quality makes this game borderline unwatchable what are we doing NFL."Social Media User

Despite these complaints, some fans are praising Netflix’s new scorebug and enjoying the commentary by Noah Eagle and Luke Kuechly.

We’ll see if Netflix can win over critics with its broadcast. This story originally appeared on The Spun.
