Nordic Noir fans won’t want to miss Netflix’s new "twist-filled" thriller streaming now, titled The Secret Woman, starring Claes Bang from Dracula.
The Plot:
Louise Andersen (Natalie Madueño), a woman living a peaceful life on a Norwegian island, receives a visit from a stranger claiming to be Helene Söderberg, a woman who disappeared from Denmark years ago and was married to Edmund (Claes Bang).
Louise travels to Denmark to unravel the mystery, leaving behind her partner Joachim (Pål Sverre Hagen). The film is based on Anna Ekberg’s novel of the same name.
Reception:
- Rotten Tomatoes (as of writing) has only three reviews for the film.
- RogerEbert.com found the movie intriguing but noted it’s full of "mystery" and "Nordic-noir corruption".
- The Guardian, less enthusiastic, still praised Bang and Madueño’s performances.
- Heaven of Horror was more positive, saying the film had a satisfying runtime despite some soapy elements towards the end.
The Secret Woman is available to stream on Netflix with a subscription now.
