Obsession: A Global Horror Sensation

The theatrical run of Obsession has come to an end, meaning fans who wish to revisit this 2026 horror hit or discover it for the first time will need to turn to digital platforms. In November, Curry Barker's Obsession will debut on Netflix, potentially sparking another wave of discussion about this horror film.

Obsession initially burst onto the scene when it opened in theaters on May 15, 2026, grossing $17 million domestically in its opening weekend. Its global success continued, ultimately raking in $522.8 million worldwide—an impressive feat considering its modest $750,000 production budget.

Obsession has become one of the most successful and beloved movies of all time, captivating a diverse audience. This global sensation is set to arrive on Netflix on November 17, just in time for the spooky season—and before the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6.

The film tells the story of Bear (Michael Johnston), a shop clerk who harbors romantic feelings for his friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette). Bear's wish for Nikki to love him more than anyone else, granted by a magical toy, leads to chaos, hysteria, and a bloody climax.

While Obsession is currently available to stream on Peacock, its release on Netflix is expected to draw more viewers.
