Ransom Canyon: The End
Showrunner April Blair’s Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly-starring Ransom Canyon has been canceled after two seasons, as per Deadline Hollywood. Netflix decided against a third season, citing declining views from the first to the second week of the premiere, down from 7.2 million to 4.1 million.
While this may reflect Netflix’s struggles with second seasons, it’s not unique; other shows like Running Point, The Four Seasons, The Gentlemen, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder also saw significant drops in views but received green lights for Season 3.
The second season, which premiered in July, picks up six months after the first, focusing on rancher Staten’s fight to regain his legacy and musician Quinn’s dilemma between her small town and New York City. The series returns with a look at Levi, Staten’s half-brother, played by Steve Howey, joining the cast alongside Patricia Clarkson, Ben Robson, and Heidi Engerman.
Returning cast members include Duhamel, Kelly, Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, Marianly Tejada, Casey W. Johnson, Tatanka Means, Justin Johnson Cortez, Kenny Miller, Philip Winchester, Jennifer Ens, Brett Cullen, and Niko Guardado. Blair executive produces and showsruns, alongside Dan Angel, Bradley Gardner, Duhamel, and Kelly.
