Netflix is bringing Roald Dahl’s captivating stories to life with a new drama series based on his adult short stories. Following its successful acquisition of the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021, Netflix has assembled an impressive ensemble for this adaptation, including:

A Contemporary Twist on Dahl’s Classics
The series, written by Danny Brocklehurst (Fool Me Once), promises a modern take on Dahl’s macabre and unexpected tales. The official logline reveals:
"A young couple, marooned in a faded seaside town, navigate conmen, adulterers, murderous mothers and snake charmers as they attempt to escape before their own fate is sealed."
Brocklehurst, a self-proclaimed Dahl fan, expressed his excitement:
"The short stories of Roald Dahl were what first made me want to become a writer. … To be given the chance to bring these characters to life in a contemporary setting is a dream come true."
Production Details
Dynamic duo Gabriel Silver and Suzanne Mackie (Orchid Pictures) executive produce alongside Brocklehurst. Sophie Loizou (Orchid Pictures) serves as development producer, while Sarah Lewis acts as producer. Runyararo Mapfumo and Ben Gregor will direct individual episodes.
