‘The Body’ Trailer: Dance Team Initiation Goes Wrong in New Netflix Horror Series – Watch Now!
Netflix has debuted the trailer for The Body, an upcoming teen horror series created by Quinn Shephard, the writer-director of the Emmy-nominated mystery Under the Bridge.
Cast
The eight-episode series stars Kristina Bogic, Sara Boustany, Sofia Wylie, Geena Meszaros, Shirley Chen, and Gabby Windey. Shephard shared with Tudum that she was fortunate to have assembled a fantastic cast, describing them as her "children" and "coven."
Plot
Here's the logline:
After a dance-team initiation gone wrong, a group of badly behaved Catholic school girls begin having prophetic visions that set off mass hysteria in their town.
The Body is a "playful spin" of Shephard's own nightmarish experiences as a teenager. She described the show's tone as "gritty camp," a raunchy teen psychodrama with a touch of Catholic horror. Shephard drew inspiration from '90s and Y2K teen movies and erotic thrillers, including Carrie, Jennifer's Body, Heavenly Creatures, and Mean Girls.
