Tyler Perry’s ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’ Debuts as Week’s Top Netflix Movie With Over 19 Million Views

TheWrap reports that Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? had a strong debut on Netflix, topping the week’s movie charts with 19.3 million views in the week ending September 7th. This marks the third installment in Perry’s dramedy series’ success on the platform.

The film surpassed last week’s leader, The Whisper Man, which saw its viewership drop to 12.7 million in its third week after reaching 33.4 million views previously.

Perry’s content has been performing well on Netflix recently; Beauty in Black Season 3 also ranked as the week’s sixth most-watched TV show with 3.3 million views, securing a fourth season renewal.

"The Gentlemen" Season 2 dominated the week’s TV list with 9.9 million views, growing from its initial 6.7 million viewers. The popularity of The Gentlemen led to Season 1 also making an appearance in the top 10 at No. 3 with 5.5 million views.

Other notable shows:

  • Death of the Pastor’s Wife, a true crime docuseries, took the No. 2 spot after two weeks at the top.
  • Crew Girl, Netflix’s newest YA show, landed in fourth place with 5.2 million views.
  • Alix Earle’s reality show, Earle Meets World, grew its viewership from 1.8 million to 2.3 million, placing it in the No. 8 spot.
